I’ve had this WordPress blog since July 2010 and I’ve only just reached the milestone of 100 blog posts. Pourquoi, you ask? Well, the first year and a half of it’s existence Mike’s Masterpieces in the Making was an infrequent mess of prose, bad comic strips and the random movie review here and there. Last July I changed up the format and the focus of the blog and have written so many regular posts that you probably had to make me stop showing up in your Facebook newsfeed.
Yesterday I gave notice at work and will be leaving December 14. I will be moving to Chicago with my compatriot Richard shortly after; we are currently being background checked by the apartment people so I may have to leave the country. Maybe. But I’m going to be moving (back) to the Windy and slumming it as a freelance writer/taking anything I can get. It’s a little daunting but really exciting to be going for a field that I actually want to work in. Wherever I end up, I will still be using my spare time writing on this blog and sharing my unsolicited opinions about film, TV, comic books and all things pop culture. Thank you to everyone who has been following my blog and reading my posts regularly – family, friends, acquaintances and internet strangers. I appreciate it yo, for reeeelz. Here’s to 100 more! (Hopefully some of which will be paid eventually. 🙂 )
