In the year 2012 we pop culture addicts love to make events out of pretty much anything and everything. Case in point: the event of the Iron Man 3 trailer. Today Marvel Studios has released a photo of Sir Ben Kingsley in the role of Iron Man villain The Mandarin (not very politically correct, but hey, he was created in the 60s!) After months of fanboy speculation on if Sir Ben was in fact the villain that we all suspected he was (*cough* Marion Cotillard is Talia), we now have official proof. The Mandarin’s powers in the comic books are magic alien rings that he wears on all of his fingers…yeah I don’t think that guy is going to show up to Iron Man 3.
Along with the photo, Marvel has released a teaser for the official trailer set to hit the web released tomorrow, Tuesday 10/23. Do you think that the trailer will live up to the teaser? What if all of the cool stuff in the trailer was already shown in the teaser? Will you be disappointed? Everyone knows that sequel trailers are better than the original trailers, but third movie trailers? All bets are off.
